AI marketing

ChatGPT

  • ChatGPT now has partial access to the internet.
    • One of the biggest downsides of Open AI’s Chatgpt was it’s limited access to information on the internet only until 2021. Well that's almost past. Because in certain cases it can browse the internet now already.
  • LinkedIn got it’s AI enhancement.
    • LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft so it’s not a surprise that they used the AI to power up this asset. You can use it for your job description and other useful things.
  • … and so did Microsoft PowerPoint.
    • This sounds even more interesting. You can now use Microsoft Copilot to create presentations from Microsoft Word documents. It sure does save a lot of time and it looks greatt.

  • Midjourney stopped its free trials.
    • And users are to blame. Noticed the Pope is fancy jacket? Sure you did. It was AI-generated and it got many people confused whether it is real. And it was not the only incident. Now the company should be able to better fight those abusing the tool.

    • WhatsApp and SMS remarketing messages helped more than half of shoppers hit the “buy now” button, with SMS remaining the second most preferred channel for promotional messages.
    • But don’t forget to give your customers a choice to adjust messaging frequency. Too frequent messaging annoyed nearly ½ of them.
  • Nearly half of users aged 3 to 17 in the UK increased their TikTok and Snapchat usage over the past year, with YouTube still remaining the most popular among children.

  • TikTok is the most downloaded app so far in 2023 in the US, surpassing Instagram in popularity despite talks of a potential ban.

  • And it hit Google with 1 % decrease in its search.

  • Almost 40 % of all online web traffic is fake. And the study is very real with sample of 1 billion visits from 15k companies. So is the revenue loss estimated up to $143 billion.

E-commerce

  • Amazon is leading a potential "retail media" gold rush, with their advertising business currently worth $40B. Other retailers like Walmart are also opening new markets and ad platforms to follow Amazon's lead.

SEO

  • Fewer brand names in Google search results
    • Google recently made a small yet sensible update to its search results. In the quest for simplicity, the search engine giant decided to show fewer brand names in search result titles. It's a reminder that in the ever-evolving world of SEO, sometimes less is truly more.

That's all highlights from March.
