Professional or Enterprise? Short answer first, then the details: seat prices, the limits that actually differ, and a checklist to help you choose without paying for features you will not use.
Facts checked against HubSpot's product and services catalog and its seats-and-credits pricing supplement on 12 October 2026. HubSpot changes limits and prices often, so confirm the figures on hubspot.com before you buy.
Quick verdict
- Choose Professional if you need automation, sequences, forecasting and custom reporting, and your team can work with standard permissions and a single production environment. Under the seats-and-credits model, Professional already includes most of the limits Enterprise has.
- Choose Enterprise if you need capabilities that only Enterprise offers (on hub-based plans: custom objects, sandbox testing, custom permission sets, deal approvals, workflow-triggered sequences) or more scale (CRM records, calling minutes, reporting query size).
- Start by checking which pricing model applies to your account. The right choice is different under each model.
Pricing and total cost
HubSpot currently sells Sales Hub in two ways, depending on your region and on whether you are a new or an existing customer: hub-based plans with Sales Seats, and the new seats-and-credits model. Recurring seat costs and one-time onboarding are separate items, so compare them separately.
Hub-based plans (list prices from HubSpot's catalog)
|
Professional |
Enterprise |
Sales Seat per month |
from $100 (list price, may be lower with annual billing or in a promotion) |
$150 (billed annually) |
Smart CRM (core) seat per month |
from $50 |
from $75 |
One-time onboarding |
$1,500 |
$3,500 |
HubSpot's catalog shows these prices in dollars. HubSpot bills in local currency, so the amount on your quote can differ. A Sales Seat is required for full Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise functionality, and view-only access is free. Prices do not include any other hubs you add.
Illustrative example: a team of 8 sales reps (Sales Seats) and 2 operations users (core seats) comes to about $900 per month on Professional and about $1,350 per month on Enterprise at list prices, using monthly equivalents (Enterprise is billed annually). Including onboarding, the first year is roughly $12,300 versus $19,700. The gap is what you pay for the Enterprise capabilities described below, so the question is whether your team will use them.
Seats-and-credits model (EUR, per seat per month)
According to available information, HubSpot has offered this model (a program HubSpot runs as Limited Release) to new customers in EMEA since 1 October 2026, while existing customers and other regions stay on the previous model. We describe it in our article on HubSpot pricing.
Under HubSpot's new model you choose one edition for the whole platform, pay per seat and get a monthly allowance of credits. Front Office Seats replace the former Sales, Service and Revenue seats.

Core Seat |
€60 |
€90 |
Front Office Seat |
€120 |
€150 |
Credits included per month |
10,000 |
15,000 |
Credits are used by all emails sent in HubSpot, except one-to-one emails sent from a connected or hosted inbox, and by workflow actions. The first 10,000 such emails cost 15 credits each and the first 10,000 workflow actions cost 3 credits each, with lower rates at higher volumes. Credits reset every month and do not roll over. Extra credits cost €0.010 each. Heavy automation can therefore raise your monthly cost above the seat price, so estimate credit use before choosing an edition. The supplement does not itemize every feature. It lists one standard sandbox without stating the split by edition, and it does not cover deal approvals or SSO. According to HubSpot's documentation, deal approvals and sandbox testing are Enterprise features on hub-based plans, so confirm availability for the model that applies to you. Reasons to choose Enterprise on hub-based plans
These reasons apply mainly to hub-based plans. Under the seats-and-credits model, several of them no longer separate the editions, as the second table shows.
- 1. Custom objects. If your business is not just contacts, companies and deals, for example contracts, subscriptions, locations or ERP records, custom objects let you model it in the CRM.
- 2. Sandbox testing. You can test workflow and property changes safely before they reach production, which matters with several teams working in one portal.
- 3. Governance. Custom permission sets and up to 300 teams suit organizations with several business units, regions or brands.
- 4. Deal approvals. You can require approval before a deal moves to the next pipeline stage, for example for large discounts.
- 5. Automation and reporting at scale. Workflow-triggered sequences, up to 1,000 workflows, 500 custom reports and forecasting across team hierarchies.
When Professional is enough
On hub-based plans, Professional covers most day-to-day sales work: up to 300 custom workflows, sequences with up to 500 emails per user per day, a custom report builder with up to 100 reports, forecasting, SAML single sign-on and phone, chat and email support. Under the seats-and-credits model it goes further, with 2,000 workflows, 3,500 custom reports, 200 custom object definitions and sequences triggered from workflows. For a team with a single sales process and one pipeline structure, these limits are rarely the bottleneck.
Real business scenarios
- SaaS sales team of 10 to 20 reps. One pipeline, standard roles, outbound sequences and weekly forecasting. Professional is usually enough, and the saved budget goes into onboarding and data quality.
- Company with several branches and an ERP integration. Regional teams, discount approvals, contract or location data and a need to test changes before release. On hub-based plans Enterprise pays off through custom objects, sandbox and permission sets. Under seats-and-credits, check scale first: records, calling minutes and reporting volume.
How to choose
First find out which pricing model applies to your account, then use the matching checklist.
Hub-based plans
- Do you need a data object that HubSpot does not have by default? If yes, Enterprise.
- Do several teams change the same portal and need a safe test environment? If yes, Enterprise.
- Do you need approval steps or custom permission sets? If yes, Enterprise.
- Will you exceed 300 workflows, 100 custom reports or 500 sequence emails per user per day? If yes, Enterprise.
- If you answered no to all of them, start with Professional. You can upgrade later when a real requirement appears.
Seats-and-credits model
- Will you store more than 250,000 CRM records? If yes, Enterprise.
- Do you need more than 3,000 calling minutes per month or reporting queries above 10 million events? If yes, Enterprise.
- Do you need workflow health monitoring or other Enterprise-only features? Confirm them with HubSpot for your account.
- If you answered no to all of them, start with Professional. Its limits are the same as Enterprise for most items.

FAQ
Can I upgrade from Professional to Enterprise later?
Yes. You can upgrade when you need Enterprise capabilities, so there is no need to buy them in advance.
Does Professional include single sign-on?
Yes, SAML single sign-on is available in Professional as well as in Enterprise.
Is support better in Enterprise?
Not by default. Email, in-app chat and phone support are listed for both editions. HubSpot Premium Support is a separate offer, currently in beta and designed for Enterprise customers. HubSpot assesses eligibility case by case and does not publish a price.
Does Professional include custom objects or a sandbox?
On hub-based plans, custom objects, the standard sandbox and deal approvals are Enterprise capabilities. Under the seats-and-credits model HubSpot lists up to 200 custom object definitions in both editions, and does not itemize sandbox availability by edition, so confirm it with HubSpot.
How is onboarding priced?
Onboarding is a one-time fee, listed at $1,500 for Professional and $3,500 for Enterprise on hub-based plans. It is separate from monthly seat costs.
What changes with the seats-and-credits model?
You pay per seat for one edition of the whole platform and receive monthly credits (10,000 for Professional, 15,000 for Enterprise) that emails and workflow actions use. Extra credits can be bought. Most limits are the same in both editions, so the choice depends mainly on scale. HubSpot is introducing the model in stages, so check which pricing applies to your account.
